Frequently Asked Questions.

What do you do?

We use tabletop roleplaying games, such as Dungeons and Dragons or Pathfinder to create a teambuilding environment to enrich and entertain professionals.

What are Tabletop Roleplaying Games?

Tabletop roleplaying games (TTRPG’s) have been growing in popularity since the mid-70’s. Think of them as a cross between a board game and a collaborative storytelling tool. You will make a character, and together with your colleagues you will navigate challenges posed by your Game Master.  The Game Master (GM) acts as the narrator and storyteller, and will guide you through the game.

What if I have never played a TTRPG?

Don’t worry, it’s very simple. Our games are designed with ease of access in mind, we’ve created a streamlined game system that anyone can pick up so that you don’t need to worry about learning rules.

Why tabletop games?

Tabletop games are perfect companions for team building exercises for many reasons;

Firstly, you create a role for yourself, with easily understood strengths and weaknesses, and you work with your team to overcome challenges. For instance, maybe you create a character who is very strong, and your colleague creates a character who is very smart. You might struggle to decipher an ancient tome, but your friend can’t break down the door to the library. Only together can you hope to succeed. This is the very essence of teamwork.

Secondly, whilst there are many games and activities that can encourage teamwork, what makes tabletop games unique is their unlimited potential. The game takes place in your imagination, as such there is no limit to what might occur, what you might see, or where you might go. And while in truth we will all just be sat around a table, the memories you make of your imagined adventure will feel profoundly real.

How does it work?

Once you have made your booking and arranged a date, the GM will come to your office (or provide links if playing online) with all the necessary tools for running the game. They will set up the game, guide your team through making a character and then explain the rules. And then your adventure will begin, how it plays out depends entirely on the choices you make along the way. There will be a break somewhere in the middle. All you need to provide is the team, a table, and snacks.

What if we work remotely?

No problem! We can provide a virtual tabletop experience, all you need is a semi-decent computer, a web browser, a microphone and your choice of voice conferencing software.

If you don’t have an office and you want to play in person, we can arrange to meet in a third party venue, such as a gaming friendly cafe or co-working space.

How long do games last?

Games can vary in length, but we’ve found 4-5 hours (including breaks) to be the sweet spot, with 3 hours being the minimum. Whilst we can run shorter games, in our experience groups have always been left wanting more. Generally speaking the more time you give yourself to explore, the more fun you’ll have.

How many people can you accommodate?

We can run games for a minimum of three people per table, and a maximum of seven (or five if playing online). Larger groups will be split up into more tables, for which we’ll bring more GM’s. Let us know how many of you there are when you get in touch and we will work out how to best accommodate you. Also note that we are unable to accommodate mixed in-person/ online groups.

Do you do private parties/ events/ outreach?

Yes. Birthdays, events, community outreach programmes, or even just groups of friends looking to get into the hobby, we’re happy to adventure with just about anyone.

How much does it cost?

Pricing vaires based on the number of players, the length of the session, and how many GM’s we need to provide. As such there is no fixed rate. Get in touch and we can give you a quote based on your requirements.
